New Delhi, Nov 4: The Government of India has constituted the Eighth Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) to review and recommend revisions in pay, allowances, pensions, and other benefits for Central Government employees, defence personnel, and other associated categories of staff.
The Commission will be chaired by Justice (Retd.) Ranjana Prakash Desai, with Prof. Pulak Ghosh serving as Part-Time Member and Shri Pankaj Jain as Member-Secretary. The body has been tasked with evaluating the current structure of emoluments to ensure they align with contemporary functional needs, efficiency, and fiscal prudence.
