Mumbai, November 4, 2025:
The long wait for civic elections is finally over as the State Election Commission has announced polling dates for municipal councils and nagar panchayats across Maharashtra. Voting will be held on December 2, followed by counting on December 3, according to State Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare.
Elections will be conducted for 246 municipal councils and 42 nagar panchayats whose terms have expired. The announcement has brought civic poll activity into motion, with the Model Code of Conduct coming into effect from November 4.
The election process will commence with nomination filing between November 10 and 17, followed by scrutiny of applications on November 18. Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations until November 21, and the final list
