KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Stephanie Strickler, a special education teacher, is living her dream back in the very building where it began when she was a teenager. The path to Strickler's profession started when she was a student at Dobyns-Bennett High School. "I got started in a peer tutor program with Denise Oglesby," Strickler said. "It's called 'Budds,' and it's where you get to come down for one of your class blocks a day, and you get to participate as a peer tutor in one of our special education classrooms. I got home one day and I said, 'Mom, I really like this.'" Now, it's Strickler's classroom where she sees between 10 and 20 students per day.
