Fans packed into the Rogers Centre for Game 7 of the World Series didn’t just set TV records —they also broke a stadium data record, according to the company.
Rogers said attendees used 7.5 terabytes of mobile data during the 11-inning game between the company’s Toronto Blue Jays and the victorious L.A. Dodgers, slightly more than the 7.4 TB used during Taylor Swift’s concert at the same venue last November . That’s roughly equal to uploading or sharing 3.7 million photos.
According to Rogers, more than 60% of that data was for downloads, with the rest being uploads. Nearly two-thirds of Rogers TV subscribers watched the game through Xfinity TV, and total data use across its home network topped 45,000 TB during the matchup.
