Fostering animals can be incredibly rewarding – but it often isn't easy. It can take days, weeks or months to win over your new furry friend. And that's exactly the problem one rescuer was experiencing until she cracked the code. ‌

Kind-hearted cat lover Charlotte took in a foster called Caroline, who was surrendered to an animal shelter when her owner unfortunately passed away. The disorientated moggy took a while to warm to her rescuer, who initially couldn't work out what to do to form a bond. ‌

She said: "She's not very relaxed in my presence, so I try to ignore her while I'm in the bathroom with her. Sometimes I'll play songs quietly on my phone, but she never has any type of reaction." ‌
