BOULDER CANYON, Colo. (KKTV) - A 69-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after falling while rock climbing Sunday.
Officials say the climber was traversing the Chockstone climbing route, a 165-foot-tall, 1,000-foot-long rock face in Eldorado Canyon State Park when he fell more than 50 feet. He was unconscious and had no pulse when his climbing partners reached him, and they immediately began CPR. 11 News sister station CBS Denver reports the life-saving measures restarted the man’s pulse.
Due to where he fell and the terrain, it took firefighters, rescue climbers and other first responders two hours to get the victim to an ambulance.
An update on the man’s condition has not been provided Tuesday morning.
