CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Clay County Coroner has released the identity of the man who was tragically killed after a deer came through the windshield of his vehicle.

According to Clay County Coroner Lexi Glass, the person killed in the crash has been identified as 55-year-old William Waggoner Jr.

Waggoner Jr. was killed after being involved in a crash on State Road 46 near County Road 200 East in the early morning hours of October 30.

According to Clay County Sheriff Brison Swearingen, Waggoner Jr. was killed after a collision with a deer on the roadway. The sheriff said the animal came through the windshield of the vehicle and struck Waggoner Jr.
