228 Air India passengers stuck in Ulaanbaatar to return Wednesday morning

Airline coordinates with Indian Embassy and Mongolian authorities after technical diversion

Air India announced that it will operate a relief flight on Tuesday to bring back 228 passengers stranded in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, after their San Francisco–Delhi flight was forced to divert due to a technical issue. The national carrier confirmed that the special flight will return with the stranded passengers on Wednesday morning.

According to airline officials, flight AI174, which was operating between San Francisco and Delhi on November 2, made a precautionary landing in Ulaanbaatar following a suspected technical fault mid-route. The flight carried 245 people
