Punjab: A group of 1,796 Sikh pilgrims from India is set to visit Pakistan to mark the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on November 5. The devotees will pay their respects at several historic gurudwaras during the celebrations of ‘Prakash Purb’.
The pilgrims will cross into Pakistan through the Attari–Wagah border. Many expressed happiness and thanked the government for allowing the pilgrimage.
“We thank the government for giving us permission for the darshan,” said one pilgrim. Another devotee, Harpreet Singh, appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to permit the visit but urged that the visa process be made simpler so more people can join.
