Urgent repairs are underway at a cemetery in Nuneaton following a major water pipe burst. Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has confirmed that Severn Trent Water engineers are currently at Oaston Road Cemetery.

It follows what was a major water pipe burst, which led to a 'significant amount of water' around the cemetery over the weekend. But the Town Hall has said that it has now dispersed.

The local authority has said, in a statement, that no damage has been caused to the graves. But repair works are ongoing and part of the driveway is currently cordoned off.

It adds that the Severn Trent Water works to repair the pipe are expected to completed by the end of this week. This is especially important due to Remembrance Sunday this Sunday (October 9).
