A high wind watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 10 a.m. valid from Wednesday 10 p.m. until Thursday 8 a.m. for Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties.

The weather service adds, "West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph possible."

"Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result," says the weather service. "Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution."
