A stretch of Highway 59 near Niverville is closed as a result of a collision this Tuesday morning.

Hanover Fire Chief Paul Wiebe says his crews were called to a serious crash north of PR 311. He says both the north and southbound lanes of Highway 59 are closed in the one-mile stretch north of PR 311.

The collision itself ocured shortly before 9 a.m.

Traffic is being diverted around the scene of the collision.

A number of reports from motorists in the area indicate that traffic is significantly backed up on Highway 59 as a result of the collision.
