(WKBN) -- With Veterans Day around the corner, some post offices, banks and other government buildings may be closed. In observance of the holiday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Harrisburg locations will be closed.

Customers in need of PennDOT services can be obtained through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website.

As Veterans Day is a federal holiday, banks will be closed; however, ATMs will be open as usual. The U.S. Postal Service is also closed; other delivery services such as FedEx and UPS will operate as usual.

Grocery and retail stores typically remain open, but small businesses may choose to close. For stores that are open, consider looking to see if there are deals or special events going on.
