BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - Members of the Say Yes for Public Safety group joined Quad Cities Today to detail a $27 million resolution for a new Bettendorf police station that’s on the ballot Tuesday.
Ann Kappeler and Jim Spelhaug of Say Yes for Public Safety said the existing police station needs to be supported.
“Our existing police department does not support our police department as it needs to be supported,” Spelhaug said. “And this resolution gives the citizens of Bettendorf an opportunity to stand up and provide for and protect those who protect us.”
They also said that the idea for the new station is following along with the growth that Bettendorf has seen in recent years
“One of the benefits of this, the floor plan, the foot print of the new station is there’s room for growth,
