ADRIAN — There was little comment during a public hearing Nov. 3 on a special assessment district continuation in downtown Adrian for parking lot maintenance.

The current annual assessment of $60,000 has been in place since 2010, when it doubled from $30,000. Officials established the SAD after removing parking meters in 2004 to reinvigorate the downtown district.

One commenter asked for relief at one of his downtown buildings, but otherwise, the podium was empty when Mayor Angela Sword Heath opened the floor for comment.
