New Delhi: Businessman Mehli Mistry, a long-time confidant of Ratan Tata has written to Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata announcing his decision to step down as a trustee. Mistry’s resignation comes amid the internal differences at the Trusts that control a majority stake in Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group.
In his letter, Mistry reportedly conveyed that it had been a privilege to serve until October 28. He also cautioned that the recent developments, if not handled with restraint can inflict “irreparable damage” on the Tata Group.
