New Delhi: World Cup-winning Indian women’s cricket team led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur arrived in national capital New Delhi on Tuesday evening. The Women in Blue are set to be felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday for winning its first global trophy – the ODI World Cup 2025 in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.

India women, which had a tough league stage in the showpiece event, put up decisive performances in the semifinal clash against Australia and then the final against South Africa to lift the trophy for the maiden time. Marking a defining moment for women’s cricket in the country, the Women in Blue defeated Proteas by 52 runs to at the DY Patil stadium on November 2 to win the elusive cup.
