CANTON, Ohio (WOIO) - The Stark County Dog Warden issued a Critical Capacity Alert as it is in urgent need of adoptions and redemptions.

“Our shelter is bursting at the seams,” the Stark County Sheriff’s Office stated on Halloween. “Our small team and dedicated volunteers are doing everything they can to care for our dogs, but we’re stretched to our limits.”

The Stark County Dog Warden wants to get lost dogs back to their owners.

“If you know your dog is here PLEASE COME!!” SCDW urged. “We will work with you to get them home.”

The shelter, located at 1801 Mahoning Road NE in Canton, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and Sunday by appointment.
