The first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2025 season will be revealed Tuesday night.

At the top, we generally know what to expect. The defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes are unbeaten as freshman quarterback Julian Sayin cements himself as a Heisman contender, and after spending most of the season ranked No. 1 in both polls, they're expected to occupy the same spot in the initial CFP rankings.

Indiana, which has been one of the most impressive teams in the country and remains unbeaten thanks to a Heisman-contending quarterback of its own in Fernando Mendoza, is expected to rank No. 2.

While there may not be many surprises at the top of the rankings, there will be a pair of teams whose ranking you'll want to keep an eye on Tuesday. Miami and Notre Dame both sit at two losses after the Hurricanes dropped a game to SMU last week, and though the Hurricanes have the head-to-head win, the Fighting Irish have looked stronger recently.

If Notre Dame is slotted ahead of the 'Canes, it would make Miami's path to the CFP as an at-large team fairly difficult.
