Social media was abuzz overnight with reports of a possible tornado in Massachusetts on Monday night.

While there was no tornado, the National Weather Service in Boston said something known as a " gustnado " did cause damage around 10 p.m. Monday.

A review of radar showed weak rotation from the East Providence-Barrington town line in Rhode Island into the Massachusetts communities of Rehoboth, Swansea, Somerset and Fall River.
