TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The former treasurer for a Leon County church was arrested on fraud charges, according to LCSO.
LCSO’s Financial Crimes Unit arrested Marisa Humose, 48, on Monday after an investigation into financial theft and fraud at the church.
In June, the church’s pastor reported financial discrepancies after finding unauthorized transfers from the church’s Cash App account, LCSO said.
Humose served as the church treasurer from June 2022 to June 2025. She had access to the church’s bank and Cash App accounts and was responsible for maintaining financial records.
Investigators determined that Humose stole more than $70,000 from the church’s Cash App account between 2022 and 2025.
Humose is charged with one count of Grand Theft and one count of Organized Scheme to Defrau
