LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood of the Jefferson County Public Schools said that students in the district are hurting as funding for SNAP benefits remains uncertain.
Yearwood’s statement comes one day after the Trump Administration announced that they have agreed to partially fund SNAP benefits, using contingency funds. But some are still worried about where their next meal will come from, and officials are calling on Kentuckians to help out.
Inside a busy Dare to Care food bank, Dr. Yearwood announced they’re partnering with the food bank to make sure students in the district are fed.
