BATON ROUGE, La. (KPLC) - The LSU Board of Supervisors is expected to announce the new university president in a meeting today.
After hearing from students and candidates, the board went into executive session around 10:15. The stream will resume when board members return.
McNeese State University President Wade Rousse was named among the top 3 candidates to lead LSU after former president William Tate left to become president of Rutgers University in New Jersey.
The other finalists are James Dalton, provost at the University of Alabama, and Robert Robbins, former president of the University of Arizona.
Several LSU students expressed opposition to the potential hiring of Rousse during public comment periods, citing concerns about his close alignment with Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry.
