Jalen Ramsey is going to move to free safety on a full-time basis at some point in his career. Due to the injuries in the Steelers secondary, he is getting a sneak peek at the position on a full-time basis.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday during his weekly news conference that Ramsey will remain at free safety for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. The Steelers will be without DeShon Elliott for the foreseeable future while Jabrill Peppers and Chuck Clark are working their way back from an injury and an illness that forced them to miss the 27-20 victory over the Colts.
Ramsey had lined up all over the secondary during the first seven games of the season, bouncing back and forth between free safety, outside corner and nickel.
