A St. Paul-based home health provider is ending operations and laying off over 400 employees.

Dependable Home Healthcare notified the state of the impending closure this week, citing "business challenges and upcoming regulatory changes impacting the Minnesota home care industry."

Layoffs will be conduced in six phases, beginning Jan. 3, 2026, and concluding March 13, 2026, according to the notice. All employees, including 38 administrators and 368 care providers, are losing their jobs.

Dependable Home Healthcare was founded in 1991 as a Personal Care Assistant agency and later expanded the range of services it offered to people with disabilities in the Twin Cities area, according to its website.
