The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday carried out coordinated searches at seven locations in Patiala and Ludhiana districts in connection with a disproportionate assets case registered against Harcharan Singh Bhullar, a Punjab-cadre IPS officer of DIG rank.

According to the agency, the premises searched were linked to persons suspected of acting as benamidars or associates for channeling and investing Bhullar’s alleged ill-gotten wealth into immovable properties and related business ventures.

The searches were conducted at locations in villages Baukar Gujiran, Kalas Khurd, and Sainsowal Kalan in Ludhiana district; a residence in Gobind Nagar, Machhiwara Khas; a house in Sargodha Colony-A, Ludhiana; and two addresses in Patiala, namely, Green House, New Moti Bagh Colony,
