CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Tenn. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said a man is charged with first-degree murder after being accused of killing his mother.
Officials said they found Linda Spivey, 76, murdered in her home when deputies arrived to do a wellness check.
Deputies said that they showed up to the home just after 9 p.m. on Monday to check on her after someone called and asked for a wellness check. When they arrived at her home on Big Horn Drive, they found her murdered.
Officials said that their primary suspect was her son, Kenneth Spivey, 59. They said they arrested him without incident.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced its special agents were also involved in investigating the circumstances leading up to Linda Spivey's death. TBI said its agents obtained a war
