SCOTT COUNTY, Tenn — Hundreds of people showed up to Oneida High School on Tuesday evening, with many wearing shirts or holding signs, hoping to close the door on at least one landfill project right now.
"This is all part of our efforts to protect our community, protect our land, protect our businesses, and most importantly, to protect our children," said Kathy Obrusanszki, president of the grassroots group "Cumberland Clear." The organization is composed of people from several towns in Scott County, Tennessee and McCreary County, Kentucky.
