JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office confirmed that a crew member was killed Monday while working on a film production in the Bridge City area.

The victim, 64-year-old James “Trapper” McEvoy of New Orleans, was electrocuted while working in a bucket truck on River Road, according to the coroner’s office.

McEvoy worked as a grip, a member of the crew responsible for handling equipment on set.

Sources told the outlet that McEvoy was working on a feature film scheduled to begin production Tuesday. Friends and colleagues took to social media Monday evening to mourn his death. One post described the incident as “a tragic accident while working on set.”
