KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Wesley House Community Center is continuing to help the Knoxville community amid uncertainties over SNAP.
The food distribution is usually open starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and sometimes Saturday. They do not require any information.
Outreach Coordinator Juanita Miller said it makes her feel good to see shipments coming in since it means people will get fed. She emphasized the need in the community with people having to let bills go unpaid to afford food.
"The need is so much greater now because they can't afford the food," Miller said.
Senior Director of Advancement and Donor Relations Beverly Holland also talked about the need and encouraged people to donate anything they could. She said that Wesley House was doing "God's work."
