MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis Police Department’s Fugitive Unit arrested a man accused of a list of violent offenses, including a shooting he allegedly committed in 2020.
Police were called to a shooting inside an apartment at S Wellington Street and Walker Avenue on May 5, 2020.
Officers found Kendall Tate with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was rushed to to the hospital where he later died.
Investigators were able to trace Monkeil Wright to the shooting.
More than five years later, Wright was taken into custody.
On October 31, officers were able to take him into custody.
Wright, 34, is charged with voluntary manslaughter and employing a firearm during a dangerous felony in connection to the 2020 shooting.
