Jessica Hanna of Janesville was born and raised in the city, which led to her passion of community involvement, and eventually inspired the resurgence of Janesville's Betterment Committee.

"I think there is a whole feeling that comes with being raised in a small town," Hanna said. "We have to preserve what we have while continuing to grow in order to uphold that feeling for newcomers and the generations to come. We want to create community memories and that sense of belonging."

The Janesville Betterment Committee was revived in March 2024 by Hanna. Other members of the committee include Cathy Weidman, Angie McCarville and Cindy Dobbs.
