WASHINGTON — The winter season means winter snowflakes. Another season of snow means Arlington needs names for its fleet of snow plows and salt trucks.
This is the second annual Name that Plow contest hosted by the county. Last year had an overwhelming response with over 1,200 entries.
The county's fleet consists of 60 plow-salt trucks, 45 of which belong to the county. The winners will be displayed on Arlington's online Snow Activity Map. Once more than two inches of snow accumulates, the fleet will be activated.
Entries can come from the winter season, song/book/film/television titles, art, sports, or any witty take on life in Arlington. Each person can submit up to five names per entry.
The contest runs through Nov. 30. To submit click here.
