FARMINGTON, Ohio (WKBN) -- Voters in Farmington Township and West Farmington Village are deciding an additional levy for the fire department.
The township is asking for approval of a $2.9 million additional continuing levy to keep up with operating costs.
The Farmington Township Fire Department provides around-the-clock service. It has been staffed with part-time employees for eight years.
The levy would generate $207,000 a year for the fire department and provide an extra $100,000 from what the department currently receives, because the plan is to remove three levies from the '80s if this one passes.
If approved, the levy would cost the owner of a home appraised at $100,000 about $101 a year.
