BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Four candidates are running for two seats on the Boardman Township Trustees.
Incumbent Tom Costello is running for his sixth term and has a seat on the Mahoning County 911 Committee.
The other incumbent is Steve Yacovone, who was appointed in March to fill Brad Calhoun's seat after Calhoun was appointed township fiscal officer -- making Yacovone the first new trustee the township has appointed in 15 years. He also works as an assistant prosecutor in Columbiana County.
Attorney Matt Gambrel is also running for a seat. He unsuccessfully ran for judge in 2018.
Cody McCormick is running as a political newcomer, believing the township needs new leadership.
One issue facing the candidates is the possibility of a statewide referendum to eliminate property taxes landi
