NEW ORLEANS —
An Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office deputy has been arrested for malfeasance in office.

According to OPSO, Brown is accused of misappropriating funds collected from fellow deputies related to the sale of commemorative badges.
Brown has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
“These funds were intended to support a legitimate internal initiative, and the misuse of any portion of those proceeds represents a serious breach of public trust and professional ethics,” Hutson said.
She is being charged with one count of felony theft between $5,000 and $25,000 and one count of malfeasance in office.
