The man accused of causing the Palisades Fire has agreed to delay the start of his trial on federal arson charges until April, 2026, according to court filings.

Jonathan Rinderknecht also asked the court to reconsider a judge's decision to deny him release on bail until trial, according to a request filed Tuesday.

Rinderknecht, 29, faces 3 federal felony charges for allegedly igniting a brush fire in the Palisades Highlands on January 1, which, after it was extinguished on the surface, the ATF said continued to smolder underground in roots before it reignited in high winds January 7 and became the Palisades Fire.
