SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Perception is reality. When it comes to Shreveport’s overall image statewide and nationally, crime has been one thing city officials have worked hard at lessening.

Crime statistics show some progress has been done in lowering crime this year. Murders and shootings in the city are down compared to the past few years.

But domestic violence crimes have risen in 2025.

Even with stats down, that does not take away the pain of those who have lost loved ones.
