Murphy’s Taproom has been a mainstay of Elm Street in Manchester since it took over the Omega Entertainment Complex in 2007. Now, it’s no more after the owners decided to consolidate the Manchester location into its Bedford facility.

The Irish-themed restaurant and pub closed at the end of last month.

Keith Murphy opened the joint after working as a manager at The Derryfield restaurant and at a restaurant in Baltimore.

The taproom later expanded, and Murphy added a diner after purchasing a vacant auto mechanic's shop. Murphy later sold the diner.

Murphy, who serves as a state senator representing Manchester’s Ward 1, said it was tough to close a restaurant he invested in for 19 years.
