JOLIET, Ill. (WTVO) — A man who died on his ATV while fleeing the Illinois State Police on Saturday has been identified.
According to the Will County Coroner, 48-year-old Timothy Barten, of Joliet, was killed in the crash on November 1st.
The Illinois State Police said at 5 a.m., troopers were called to investigate an ATV driving illegally along Interstate 55, near Route 30.
When authorities located the ATV, the driver sped away and ultimately crashed into an oncoming vehicle.
The coroner said Bartlet was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m.
Toxicology results are pending.
