OTTAWA — Canada will balance its operating budget within three years, with reductions in spending and an increase in investments.
Tabled Tuesday afternoon in the House of Commons, Budget 2025 — entitled Build Canada Strong — promises to spend less on government operations while spearheading “generational” nation-building infrastructure projects meant to bolster Canada’s economy.
“The speed, scope and scale of change that we’re witnessing in Canada and around the world is quite unprecedented. That’s why we need a strong response,” Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne told reporters Tuesday.
