WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 23-year-old man is in custody after police say he opened fire on a vehicle on Saturday, injuring two people on Polo Road.
The shooting happened on Nov. 1 in the 300 block of Polo Road, where investigators say the victims were sitting inside a vehicle when someone pulled up and fired multiple shots. Both victims were hit.
According to Winston-Salem police, detectives with the Gun Crime Reduction Unit and officers with the Patrol Division initially identified both a suspect and the vehicle tied to the shooting.
The break in the case came the next day, Nov. 2, when officers responded to a stolen vehicle call on Yarbrough Avenue. During that investigation, police say they learned the driver and the vehicle were connected to the Polo Road shooting. Officers later exec
