NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Pelicans star Zion Williamson has a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring and will be sidelined at least 7-10 days, the team announced Tuesday (Nov. 4).
Williamson injured his leg during last Friday’s loss to the Clippers in Los Angeles.
His latest injury means the Pelicans (0-6) will be without their top player starting Tuesday night, when they host the 3-4 Charlotte Hornets, still hoping to record their first victory of the season.
During his first six NBA seasons, Williamson missed more games (268) than he played (214). He has played five of the team’s first six games this season, averaging 22.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
The Pelicans said Williamson “will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days” and further updates would be provided when warranted.
