GUTTENBERG, Iowa (KCRG) - An eastern Iowa food pantry is offering food assistance during the government shutdown.

The Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics (GMHC) runs a food pantry at the Family Resource Center. It’s providing food assistance to families twice a month, along with holiday boxes at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

The food pantry is located at 510 1st Street in Guttenberg. It operates at the following times:

Monday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

People can sign up for monthly deliveries to Edgewood and McGregor by call, text, or email .
