COLUMBUS, Ohio — Results are rolling in for several key local police and fire levies across central Ohio.
Voters are deciding on funding measures that could directly affect fire protection, police staffing and emergency services in multiple townships. Some levies are renewals, while others would increase funding after previous ballot failures.
Fire levy results
The proposed levy is a renewal and increase for a total of 6.89 mill. It would continue funding for fire services and cost property owners about $137 annually for every $100,000 of assessed home value for five years. It comes after failed levy attempts last November and in May, forcing the township to close one of its two fire stations and lay off multiple firefighters.
