Welcome to the most anticipated season in the history of Purdue basketball.

This is somehow the second time in three years I've written that sentence and it has been true on both occasions. It seemed unlikely just two years ago there would be a Boilermaker team with as much hype as the one that returned the utterly dominant national player of the year from a team that had been a No. 1 NCAA Tournament seed the season before.

And yet, here we are, just two years later, with a Purdue team ranked higher in the preseason polls than the 2023-24 squad, which was No. 3 in the preseason before rolling to the Final Four.
