The provincial government recently announced its 2026 financial allocations through the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF) for Cornwall and the six local municipalities of Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry.
A total of 388 municipalities across the province will benefit from the OMPF, which is the province’s main general assistance grant. The OMPF primarily supports small, northern, and rural communities and aims to support municipalities in providing critical services.
Allocations for 2026 have increased by $50 million according to the province, specifically to target municipalities with a limited property tax base. This increase will see the province provide an approximate total of $600 million in unconditional funding to these communities.
