Living with Type 1 diabetes can be challenging and Cornwall resident Taylor de Haan is again raising funds to support global advocacy and research efforts.
Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2019, de Haan, 15, is hoping to surpass a total of $10,000 raised during her fifth-annual fundraising campaign.
From 2021-24, de Haan’s campaigns have raised over $8,775, with donations made by friends, family, and community members for Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation — JDRF). Breakthrough T1D is the leading global organization that funds research efforts on Type 1 diabetes.
