(NEXSTAR) – Louisville International Airport closed its airfield Tuesday evening after an "aircraft incident," officials said in a news release.
The Louisville Metro Police Dept. announced that a shelter-in-place had been issued for "all locations within 5 miles of the airport" after reports of a plane crash, adding that there were "injuries reported."
"This is an active scene with fire and debris," the department said on X. "Stay away."
