The state of Ohio announced Nov. 4 it is working on determining current food stamp benefits for recipients and when benefits will be available after hearing from the federal government that full benefits will be reduced by half.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service told the states they should recalculate the monthly benefit amount for each household using the updated framework, according to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
The state is working with its vendors, and once the review is complete, ODJFS will notify SNAP recipients when the partial November benefits will be added, ODJFS said in a news release.
